Why I Watch PBS' Newshour with Jim Lehrer

I almost refuse to watch cable news for the simple reason that non-expert pundits with political motives are almost always the ones giving opinions on all issues.

Not on the Newshour with Jim Lehrer. Segments on the economy have only high level experts giving opinions. Segments on health care same. Etc...

For example, while cable news networks are interviewing pundits about the financial crisis, the Newshour gives an entire hour to the Fed Chairman himself to field questions and lay down what is really going on. Watch for yourself below. (After watching part one, click on part two, three, etc... when they come up.)

Things like this are why I watch PBS' Newshour with Jim Lehrer.
