This Computer Game is Educational, I Promise

I went to grade school in Oregon in the late 80's and early 90's, which means that the highlight of my elementary school career was the unit in social studies each year that focused on Oregon's history.  In those units, we would get to go the library once a week, sit down at the Apple IIe's (complete with black and green screen), and play Oregon Trail.  I'm not sure if my teachers actually thought I would learn something or if they just needed a break, but I played a lot of that game over my 7 years in grade school and I loved every minute of it.

In tribute, here's a great spoof trailer for a movie based on the classic game we all know and love.  Enjoy!

  1. Nick,

    That's pretty funny!

The Oregon Trail was awesome! Did you know you can play the original Oregon Trail game here?

.... With this information just try now to get some work done today. :)

  2. Sadly, I would watch that movie if it existed.

  3. Jonathan,

It's ok - I'd be in line right next to you on opening night trying to buy a ticket. I still chuckle to myself when I run the line "I'll take 2 yoke of oxen and $1600 worth of bullets" through my mind.
