Liberal Fear Tactics

We all know what the conservative scare tactics are: When talking about rushing to war, use imagery like "mushroom cloud". When discussing torture, make sure the real world is painted as an episode of 24 and when discussing a democrat's economic policy, make sure you always mention the word socialism or something like unto it in every sentence.

Now, what characterizes liberal's favorite scare tactics? This can probably best be summed up in ABC's new show airing tomorrow: Earth 2100': the Final Century of Civilization?

From their own website we find this summary:
It's an idea that most of us would rather not face -- that within the next century, life as we know it could come to an end. Our civilization could crumble, leaving only traces of modern human existence behind. To change the future, first you have to imagine it.

It seems outlandish, extreme -- even impossible. But according to cutting edge scientific research, it is a very real possibility. And unless we make drastic changes now, it could very well happen.

Experts have a stark warning: that unless we change course, the "perfect storm" of population growth, dwindling resources and climate change has the potential to converge in the next century with catastrophic results.

Watch "Earth 2100," a two-hour television event, Tuesday, June 2, at 9 p.m. ET.
So there you have it. Liberal scare tactics.

  1. Wow, I had no idea. I'm going to stop driving my car, never have children, buy a stockpile of guns and ammo, and move to cave in the mountains to wait it out.

    Thanks for the heads up!

  2. I personally like the "cutting edge scientific research" part. That inspired all kinds of fear, though probably not the fear the producers were trying to instill. More it was a fear of the incredible headache I will have when I have to explain to people that what they see on TV is no science.
