Higher Percentage Of Budgets Going To Open Source

Gartner, an information technology research and advisory firm, has just relased the results of a survey of how companies plan on using their budgets over the next year. As you can see, this year companies spend 22% more on proprietary software than open source. Next year the gap closes to 17%.

At this rate it will only be a few years before companies budget more for open source software than proprietary.
