Hey Everyone
With my forthcoming move to graduate school next month, I never really thought that I would be bringing someone with me. Yup, my fiancee will be joining me in the humid home of Dr. Pepper: Waco, Texas. So, that's what's new in my life: Melissa. She's from Indiana, served a mission in Houston (Spanish-speaking) and has a huge passion for music and for helping people. Here's a picture to satisfy your curiosity:

ReplyDeleteI don't know about heterotic strings but obviously you exhibit confinement. Once you(quark) try to eave BYU(proton) you immediately combine with a partner so that can never be seen single(lone quark). So, you and your fiancé obviously form a singlet for some gauge group G.
Or maybe you are just that "Finite Simple Group (of Order Two)" I posted about earlier.
Or maybe it does have something with open strings ending on D-Branes or something like that, but I better quit before I get in trouble.

ReplyDeleteOn the theme of the post, I would say that what we are seeing here is a modification of your mean flow (to Waco) that leads to a transition from purely fluctuating (high l) fields to a strong dipole (l = 1) state. Fortunately for you, l = 1 fields can produce dynamo action, so be ready for some magnetic activity.
Or perhaps Waco's lower lattitude is causing an increase in the Coriolis force you experience, which can result in changes to your angular momentum transport and thermal wind balance. Without some kind of external driving, you may even have ended up confined to Taylor-Proudman columns, and we wouldn't want that, now would we?

Hey Jared, Congratulations! Unlike the others, I'm not going to spout off about what gauge group you belong to, I'll just say you'd better collapse the uncertainty in that wedding date so that we can observe an invitation in the mail. Congratulations again.
