Sean Carroll, a theoretical cosmologist at Caltech, was on the Colbert report recently. I'm posting this for three reasons:
- There have been comments in the past about issues with time.
- He is yet another example of a mainstream cosmologist promoting multiverse propaganda. :)
- My recent posts have been too long winded with technical jargon. (Though, maybe not technical enough to please experts.) Time for a video.
Furthermore, his genius phrase "No one is going to make a wrong turn into yesterday" sums up the problem. If space a time are on equal footing, and you can turn forward or backward in space, why can't you "turn" forward and backword in time? We really don't know the
fundamental answer to this.
Also, if you are interested, Dr. Carroll has a
write up of the whole event. (May be interesting for those who wonder how the Colbert Report "works".)
A very cool backstage account. I often wonder how 'The Daily Show' and the 'Colbert Report' get such high caliber guests who are sometimes lampooned right to their face.
