I came across this quote today and thought that it about sums things up. In this news article a spokesman for Governor Schwarzenegger said, "The governor is not against condiments. The governor's not against fruits of any kind."
I read that and thought, "That's good considering he is the Governor of the Land of Fruits and Nuts."
It is interesting to me that states can't go in debt but the Federal government can. I would like to know the history of why this is and if it is a case of the Federal Government saying "Debt is bad. We shouldn't allow states to go into debt since it is so risky. Though the same applies to us, we think we can be trusted so we'll allow it."
