To say "physics is just applied mathematics", for example, is to say that you can derive the universe from pure math, which just doesn't work. Not only that, but as an experimentalist, I must say that another good response is that this also arranges field by utility, with the arrow going the opposite direction.Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02573106204390814039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212234230338648875.post-75953252793201752702010-03-14T21:14:01.905-07:002010-03-14T21:14:01.905-07:00Yes, it is an interesting question: "How muc...Yes, it is an interesting question: "How much of psychology is reducible to biology/chemistry/physics/etc.."Joseph Smidthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02583891162785742138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212234230338648875.post-6909477232196876282010-03-14T19:10:22.333-07:002010-03-14T19:10:22.333-07:00I should also note it's debatable whether psyc...I should also note it's debatable whether psychology is reducible to biology. Some parts are. Arguably the parts that they can actually make headway in. But I think some fundamental parts aren't. There's actually still a bit of an ongoing debate as to whether biology is reducible to physics. Although enough people are physicalists so as to have faith that it is.Clark Goblehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03876620613578404474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4212234230338648875.post-40115188172024724332010-03-14T19:08:37.072-07:002010-03-14T19:08:37.072-07:00Thank Heidegger...

Saying they are to the right of physicists is like saying linguists are because physicists often use words to describe phenomena.Clark Goblehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03876620613578404474noreply@blogger.com
